Salt and Sugar

Sugar and Salt are so widely used in our foods that you would almost think there are no other spices. How conditioned we are in America to want Sugar and Salt.
Think about how much sugar there is in 15 grams (1 teaspoon= approximately 4 grams.*) And how much salt there is in 500mg. (1 teaspoon of salt = 2,000 mg.**) Imagine how much sugar and salt you are eating each day.

Food can still taste good without lots of sugar and salt.
